Tips for changing career paths from office to social work?

I am getting ready to graduate college in May with a BS in General Studies. I have always held regular office clerical jobs but due to some volunteer experience I want to switch gears and get into the social work field and work for non-profits like Boys and Girls Clubs of America. How can I make this kind of a career change with little experience and a General Studies degree?Tips for changing career paths from office to social work?
You will have to get a degree in social work if you actually want to work as a social worker. If you just want to work in the same field as social worker but not have the job title of ';social worker'; you can still work for the boys and girls club doing other things. You can get a certificate in counselling i believe, but not sure. But if you're serious about social work, you will need to transfer your credits over and will probably have to do another 2 years of university in order to get a social work degree. As a side note, i graduated with my master's in social work this summer and STILL haven't landed a good job, but maybe that's just my luck.Tips for changing career paths from office to social work?
You can always apply to a MSW program and get a Master's. That really depends on your finances and if you want to spend more time in school, tho.
