Can a teacher change career?

Hi



How can a teacher change career? I find it impossible to find a different job after i left teaching. I am young and have only taught for 2 years, yet, having decided to switch careers I discover that no one at all is interested in me for anything else and everyone gets puzzled by my decision to change my career. As if they live in a different world and do not know what teaching is like. Hardly any new teachers stay in this job for more than a year, a couple or so due to the reasons we all are well aware of. The only ones that stay are those that are completely unemployable or unprepared to take pay cuts and unwilling to start again.



Yet, all potential employers get so surprised you want to get out of that swamp and are even prepared to start from the bottom and no one will give you a chance even with the most rubbish and low paying jobs.



I am not talking about switching to anything high flying or professional, obviously I am not qualified for anything liked this, but a modest job in admin could do, I do have the skills. So why won't anyone consider me?



How do teachers change careers? What else can ex-teachers do?Can a teacher change career?
This problem isn't unique to teachers. I find whatever job you first get out of school, the people who want to hire you are people in that field.



Try to focus on what you studied in college. Apply for government jobs, their application processes are weird and mechanical.Can a teacher change career?
I understand where you are coming from. I cannot believe how much is expected of teachers with so little in return.



Have you thought of going into some type of medical profession. Some of the programs are not very long and they is usually room for managerial advancement in almost all areas. Medical professions usually do not have problems with getting jobs.
