How does one go about a career change with a liberal arts degree? Tired of being a teacher...?

It's really frustrating when you can't get a decent paying job in your own field and can't really do much technical stuff either. Am I doomed to poverty? How does one go about a career change with a liberal arts degree? Tired of being a teacher...?
No you are not! A teacher myself, I have taken a different route and now write textbooks in the field I used to teach in. I just started this, so I am winging it, but looks promising. I don't know what you taught, but think of the many ways you can take that skill into the private sector somehow.

See the books ';Where The Jobs Are'; and ';Second Careers'; at the library. Full of great ideas and helpful resources. How does one go about a career change with a liberal arts degree? Tired of being a teacher...?
*LOL* One of the few things I took away from college was a quote by one of the instructors. ';A degree tells an employer that you're trainable';, which means, unless you're in a very specific field (medicine, law, etc.), as long as you have a degree and can be trained, you have flexibility.

Decide what you want to do, determine the qualifications, learn, and go for it. Good luck.
