I need a career change bad. How do I get in to Aircraft Avionics sales ?

43 years old. I'm generally familiar with Avionics but have no direct experience in Avionics or sales. 15 Years Aircraft Dispatch experienceI need a career change bad. How do I get in to Aircraft Avionics sales ?
I work as an ';Aviation Specialist'; (or Account Executive) at Blue Star Jets in New York. I am happy there as they have given us excellent training and it is a very unique, special product. I am not sure where you live but if you live where they are hiring you could look into this. Otherwise, there are always local charter companies that try to sell their aircraft and or lease their aircraft. This is a huge industry now with plenty of career options. Good luck!I need a career change bad. How do I get in to Aircraft Avionics sales ?
The best source for everything avionics is the Aircraft Electronics Association. www.aea.net

There is a careers section and a listing section of every avionics type company that use the AEA. Avionics sales isn't very specific. There is General Aviation- selling installations. Corporate Business Jets, a whole other level of avionics sales and then Airline Divisions. I would check the AEA avionics section where you would just put in your location and all the participating shops in your area will pop up. Then do some researching for where you want to aim. My biggest suggestion is go towards corporate sales. Airlines are losing billions. And general aviation aircraft owners are basically cheap and its like pulling teeth to get them to upgrade their aircraft avionics. GA airplanes are toys and when times are tough and fuel is high, owners park their toys. Myself, being a 20 year avionics tech/manager/inspector would not suggest this field at this time.

Good Luck
