Change career to Investment banking?

I am 36 with a Masters degree in Computer Science and Post graduate diploma in business administration. I have been a software developer for almost 15 years and do not enjoy it any more. I would like to become an Investment banker (I do not have the knowledge) or an Equity research associate. I do not know how to make this career change. I am smart and always worked hard. One of the software I developed runs in over 100 banks.

Any one with some ideas please guide me. I would not mind going into the IT department of a company where I can learn investment banking or equity research. Thanks.Change career to Investment banking?
WOW UR MY IDOL!!Change career to Investment banking?
Why don't you check with a knowledgeable professor from your grad school and have a sit down session with him . If you want to get into a business find an individual who can quote the ins and outs, the requirements and pluses and minuses of Investment Banking. If your software is in 100 banks or more you must have had contact with one who is heavily involved in investments.
Don't take a risk.

Investment banking is not that easy as software engineering in which field, you say, you have expertise.
