Am I too old to go back to college to change my career path?

I'm a Graphic Artist, have been since I was 20. Now I'm 37 years old and thinking now I going to college to get my ECE Dipoloma to work in a Daycare. From there and depending on how it goes I would like to work with disabled children. Am I too old for this career change? Am I too old to be accepted into a course or ever get a job?Am I too old to go back to college to change my career path?
Being here means you want to learn something new and probably already have. U obviously are not too old to question anything, so why stop there.

It won't be easy, but it is more than do-able. My mom went back to college and recieved her bachelors at 43 years old. Just be prepared and don't let anyone tell you that you can't.
You are not too old! Go for it! As a matter of fact, I think you've chosen a field where there is much need for qualified people.

Nope, your not too old. I have heard men at their 40's still in college. Besides, I think it just all depends where you want to go to college, but I doubt it gots anything related to age :P



Its nice you will be working for the disabled childern. I'm still in high school and during my freshman year I worked at the school to help the disabled students. We would have meetings at lunch and work with them.



Its lots of fun :) (thats just me) For the mean time, after college, I'm planning to go to an art college or university. Funny....

No you are not too old. You must love children and have energy and something tells me that you do. There is always room in this field especially if you have an interest in working with disabled children. Knowing graphic art or any type of art would help you and the children, so that is a big big plus.

ECE course hard work but lots of fun. Al the best with your course. Go for it!

No, your never too old to go back to school. However going back to school at 37 presents some challenges. You are no longer supported by your parents so you are going to have to work to support yourself while going to school. Do you have children? If you do this might present another challenge. Try to recruit the support of other family members, friends, and/or a spouse to help you get throught the time it takes to get your ECE Diploma.
